Golden Revival Church - WKU 2023
My senior capstone project combined the Gothic style of architecture with the modern needs of a church. My goal is to take from the beauty of the past while bringing revival to an unchurched population. San Francisco, California, is a perfect place to build a church that can support a large congregation while being progressive in embracing a modernized style and sustainable construction. I raised the nave to the second level to provide the various functions a modern congregation needs while keeping the overall form simple. This housed the less formal programming, such as classrooms and fellowship spaces underneath. The office suite is part of the cloister with a descending form and a living roof. This creates a green space between the two connecting forms.
